Partial Dentures come in a variety of materials
The material used depends upon the budget available and also the type of denture required for adequate treatment.
In partials it is best to look at the affect the type of partial used will have on the remaining teeth and this is looked at in conjunction with a dentist who screens the mouth to make sure it is dentally fit to have a partial denture. This is called an Oral Health Certificate (OHC) that TOTAL DENTURES need to make a partial denture for a patient. The patient occlusion and anatomical features will indicate which material is best for use. For example using an inferior material for a patient with a hard bite will not last long so using the knowledge of Totaldenture's clinician is vital to a pleasing result. Types of Partial DenturesMetal partials are the strongest and are advised where the bite is close and the bone is strong. The main joining area called the major connector being unbreakable is an obvious advantage.
Flexible partials are increasingly popular, also very strong and very comfortable, Valplast is used for single tooth application and Thermosens is used for larger appliance as this provides a differing type of flex that is more rigid. These are very comfortable and do not have any metal parts.
3D Non Metal partials are printed 3D partials particularly useful when there are few teeth left in the mouth to anchor the partial. The clasps come in 3 shades-light, medium, and a darker shade especially good cosmetically for front teeth. Again no metal parts Acrylic partials are bulky but can be added to and are usually kept in by stainless steel wire clasps. However acrylic partials are not as strong as the other types and extra care must be exercised with these. Often stainless steel clasps are used with these. |

Available in a variety of materials, partial dentures are among the top dental treatment choices as they are highly durable and available at relatively low costs.

Partial Denture Treatment at Total Denture
Partial denture treatment at Total Denture is usually a multi-appointment process. Firstly, our experienced clinicians will complete an oral examination and determine which material is best based on the patient's occlusion and anatomy.
The examination will look into the potential impact of the type of partial used on the remaining teeth. This is looked at with a dentist who screens the mouth to ensure it is dentally fit to have a partial denture. This is called an Oral Health Certificate (OHC) and must be obtained by Total Dentures to make a partial denture. The price range for this type of service is approximately $850 - $3000.

Types of Partial Dentures
There are a variety of upper and lower partial denture treatment options at Total Dentures:
Metal Partials
Metal partials are the strongest type of partial denture and are recommended for when the bite is close and the bone is strong. The dentures and acrylic base are moulded atop metal wires in metal and chrome partials. As such, they are highly durable and typically have a longer life span than other partials.
Flexible Partials
Flexible partials are increasingly popular as they are very strong and comfortable. They do not include any metal; instead, the dentures are attached to a flexible base. Valplast is used for single tooth application, and Thermosens are used for larger appliances as this provides a differing type of flex that is more rigid.
3D Non Metal Partials
3D printed non-metal partials are useful when few teeth are left in the mouth to anchor the partial. The clasps come in 3 shades-light, medium and a darker shade, especially good cosmetically for front teeth.
Acrylic Partials
Acrylic partial dentures are bulky but can be added to, and are usually kept in by stainless steel wire clasps. However, acrylic partials are not as strong as the other types and extra care must be exercised.
