Relining/Rebasing Patient’s gums shrink and although the new denture fits at first snugly, over time the shrinkage will cause the denture to become loose. Patients are encouraged to have a check every 2 to 3 years to check the fit. Ill-fitting dentures cause the gums to shrink faster through premature occlusion. A Reline will fill in this gap.
A Rebase is similar to a reline but replaces ALL of the acrylic that may have fractured or stained with new acrylic so the result is a brand new base.

Soft Liner Reline:This is an added cushion that is predominantly used for the lower denture when the patient requires a “soft landing” or cushion. More so used when the patient’s gums have totally receded and become very flat and therefore is kinder on the tissue (lower gum).
It can be added when the dentures are first made (new dentures) or as a reline or rebase stage.
